Formerly known as Woh Hup Complex, Golden Mile is a high rise commercial and residential building known for being an ethnic enclave for Thai residents in Singapore and its Brutalist architecture style. It is a building that has had many stories within and about, once even referred to as a “vertical slum”. Regarded as a type of megastructure, it was designed as a ‘self-contained city, featuring a distinct step terrace, which gave the residents and tenants a view of the seafront, while having shaded, well ventilated areas. In recent years, it has come into the news about the selling of the building and whether the building should be preserved for its history and architecture.
